MATT MARSHAK

Gitarre

Singer/songwriter and guitarist Matt Marshak was born in Long Island/New York and grew up on rock ‘n’ roll and blues music in a home full of musicians. Passing guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix or BB King inspired his playing, and in high school his teacher turned him on to the contemporary jazz and blues guitar sounds of Larry Carlton, George Benson and Robben Ford. Once out of college, Matt performed a variety of musical styles with New York’s top original bands and artists. In 2001, he released his debut CD and he soon performed on the same bills as artists such as Carlos Santana or David Sanborn. The country/americana/crossover influence could start to be felt in Matt’s music on his cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire.” Matt put out an atmospheric and heartfelt vocal and instrumental version of the Bruce classic on his “On The Rocks” album. In 2019, Matt released his first ever vocal singer/songwriter album “Simple Man.” This album brought his soulful and unique voice to forefront. This album included blues, country, folk, and roots music. Besides recording and touring, a big part of Matt’s life is also performing for children across the country. He regularly visits schools bringing his love and passion for music and guitar to the next generation of our world.
