His sultry voice and huge range remind of vocal greats like Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway: Bart Brandjes, the youngest from a family of 11 siblings, was born in the Netherlands. Already at a young age, he was fascinated by music, especially drums. Art Blakey was his hero and role model – Bart wanted to do the same like he did. This dream approached reality when the Dutch Swing College Band performed in Bart’s hometown and he purchased his first drum kit from their drummer. From that moment on, he started practicing extensively and soon performed on stage. His main love is jazz, but he is also inspired by soul, (hard) rock and even sentimental songs. Besides quickly establishing himself as an versatile drummer, Bart’s vocal talents also attracted attention. In 2011, Bart reached the quarter finals in “The Voice of Holland”. His participation lead to an encounter with US producer/guitarist Paul Brown, who produced Barts’ debut CD “Real Life”.
